  4. Olympic volleyball has been documented as being introduced into the Olympics in 1924. However, at this point in time it was seen more as a demonstration event rather than actually being a part of the main Olympics. The concept of having Olympic volleyball actually came to be in 1964. There were a few games played after World War II and then soon after the volleyball era began for the Olympics and has continued ever since then.

Women’s volleyball was viewed as a game to help girls improve their posture, many people did not expect women to play the game competitively or aggressively. The first womens volleyball teams were organized in 1923, and in 1924 the first rules for women’s volleyball were published.

Rights Assignment

1. Freedom of Speech

2. Freedom of speech seems to be dissolving, as the claims against publications win court cases due to the complicated and hard to prove libel laws and defences. This right, also, is slowly fading away in rural countries, just like Austrailia.

3. I think freedom of speech is important to everyone everywhere. You can express anything with this right! I think it should still exist no matter where you are in the world.

4. There are no limits to freedom of speech and free expression within an open society. There is no censorship to freedom of expression. Such freedom should come more and more naturally to future generations. "Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and by many state constitutions and state and federal laws."

5. There is no limitations on freedom of speech because its what you want to do. Its your life but i think people should know when they "cross the line." Its not that hard to mean one thing and have it sound so different than what you wanted it to mean.

6. If i gave up this right, i would want everyone to be equal in every way possible. The reason why people get in trouble for saying what they feel is because you speek whats on your mind.

Fact 2

FACT #2- Global Warming

1. http://www.livescience.com/globalwarming/
  • LiveScience
  • Scientists from the Intergovernmental Panal on Climate
  • I think the source looks really credible.
  • This site explainswhat global warming is. Scientists predict that by the year 2100, average global temperatures will increase 1.4 to 5.8 degrees.
  • I do believe this source becuase, i feel that the world is really pollutioning the environment which may cause global warming.

2. http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/GlobalWarming/

  • Earth Observatory
  • Holli Riebeek
  • this source is credible
  • They are saying that global warming is happening right now. For over the the last century, cars and factories have spewed billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and these gases caused temperatures to rise between 0.6°C and 0.9°C (1.08°F to 1.62°F).
  • I do believe this because this is the second source in a row that has said the same thing.

3. http://globalwarmingdatabase.blogspot.com/

  • Global Warming Articles Database
  • no author
  • i think this source is very credible
  • many expect the new climate deal to be reached by the end of this year.
  • I do not believe this site becuase, even though it is not the end of the year, i highly doubt that the temperature rate will be reached.

I do believe this fact! First, because this winter was hotter than all the other winters we've had for awhile. Second is because, forecasters are saying this summer is going to reach temperatures that will go on record.

Fact 1

FACT #1- An ice age could possibly happen.

1. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,910467,00.html

  • Time News quoting Cesare Emiliani
  • Marine Geologist Cesare Emiliani
  • this source is very credible
  • this source is saying that it is possible that another ice age could happen. Emiliani says that in 2,000 to 3,000 years another one might happen.
  • Yes i do believe the source because, the scientists researching all this sounds like they know what their talking about and can prove all their opinions.

2. http://factoidz.com/when-will-the-next-ice-age-occur/

  • Factoidz
  • no author
  • i think this source could use particular names of scientists
  • this sorurce is saying that another ice age could happen in 50,000 years
  • i dont believe this site that much becuase, it has no specific name or anything in it

3. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/print/?id=224678

  • Daily Herald
  • Hope Babowice
  • This source could be a little more credible because at the beginning they were talking about a whole bunch of 6th graders at a middle school. And i dont theink thats a good idea to be talking about them in the intro to your artical.
  • this source is saying that we are burning so much fossil fuel that means every second we are adding carbon dioxide to our atmosphere at an impressive rate. And this helps the causes of ice ages.
  • i do not believe this site because, they were talking about 6th graders at the beginning and then it looked like they were making things up. but i dont know!

I do believe this fact. First, i think that at least every 50,000 years an ice age will occur. Second, that would call for another one in the long future but no time soon!

Daily Work Progress 1

When we came in clas we were supposed to do the Product Prospectus. We were also supposed to do research about our research question. In class today, I worked on getting my Product Prospectus done and I did. I also researched about George Washington and how he became the first president of the United States. I got 3 new bookmarks as well.

George Washington

1. Why was George Washington the first president of the United States? And how did he become the first president?

2. Making a scrapbook

3. It would explain more about his journey to the White House.

4. The scrapbook will have decorations desribing George Washington, the White House, and much more. It also will have a lot of pictures and descriptions.

5. I think making a scrapbook will help me understand how George Washington became president. I could section the scrapbook up and it will help you understand more and more. It would also be a lot more detailed.

6. Working on the project every class and staying focused. Also, working on it at home or any free time that i get to try and get it completed.

7. To complete it.
